IJM Hong Kong arranges Field Trips for our donors and partners on a regular basis. The participants will have a chance to visit our field offices and experience first hand how their support is sending rescue to victims of violence and transforming justice systems to protect the most vulnerables.
From 22 to 25 October 2023, a group of donors and supporters from diverse backgrounds joined our maiden field trip and visited IJM Manila Office in the Philippines, to deepen their understanding of one of our caseworks: Online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC).
During this trip, the participants had the opportunity to engage with our frontline staffs, as well as corporate partners and survivor leaders. These interactions provided invaluable insights into the multifaceted nature of the issue and the comprehensive approach taken by IJM and partners to combat OSEC.
Through a drive tour, the group had the unique opportunity to directly witness the crime scenes and listen to the stories of rescues. One particularly impactful experience was a visit to a shelter, where the participants had the chance to connect with young survivors through a tee-shirt drawing activity. This creative and expressive outlet brought immense joy and encouragement to the survivors.
Following the trip, all participants were deeply moved by the experience and have since become invaluable advocates for IJM’s mission. Their firsthand encounter with the realities of injustice has ignited a passion within them to actively contribute to the cause.
