Message from Miwa and Edward

“Giving is better than receiving” is something we have both been taught from young. And to be in a position to give is truly a blessing and a privilege.

More importantly, we have learned that all that we have is truly from God and we are merely stewards of His resources. And we give, not only from a position of plenty, but also from a position of lack, trusting in God’s providence in every season of our lives.

The issue of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking is coincidentally something both of us were exposed to separately in our lives – and no child, woman and man should ever have to experience violence of any nature, what’s more to be enslaved and exploited for profits. In some countries, women are also trafficked and sold as brides.

And as we write a new chapter in this season as a married couple living in freedom, we would love to do our small part by requesting family and friends to consider making a donation to International Justice Mission (IJM) in lieu of wedding gifts and ‘laisees’ for us.

IJM is working relentlessly to end slavery and human trafficking in our lifetime, and we would love to continue to support them and the vulnerable communities they serve.
