Freedom is in the Little Things – Appa Raos’s story

More than two decades ago, Appa left home hoping to earn enough to buy a small gift for his daughter. Instead, he was deceived and trapped in bonded labour slavery for 22 years. 

Every New Year, every celebration, his daughter felt the ache of an empty seat at the family table. 

Last year, that longawaited reunion finally came. 

When Appa returned home, his daughter cooked his favourite curry. They shared a simple yet joyful meal—experiencing once again how freedom is found in the little, most ordinary moments.
