Join IJM and Co-Journey in combatting human trafficking!

Founded in 1997, International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global anti-slavery organisation that works to protect people in poverty from violence. Unlike issues such as extreme weather or the lack of clean water, violence is often hidden because those who commit the crimes hide it and the victims are often too scared to speak up.

For many people in Hong Kong, they may not be aware of human trafficking issue until recently when it is widely reported on the news. But the fact is, human trafficking, which can take place in the form of sex or labour trafficking, is a crime that affects almost every part of the world. In many cases, victims falling for online scams are lured to countries like Cambodia with promises of lucrative jobs with good salaries. They are then held hostage upon arrival, forced to work or become scammers, and get beaten and abused if they try to escape.

In Southeast Asia, IJM have program offices in Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia (soon to open) that focus on combatting forced labour slavery and human trafficking. They partner with governments and local authorities to rescue victims, restore survivors to safety and strength, bring criminals to justice, and strengthen justice system to protect people who are vulnerable and prevent violence from happening in the very first place.

For the past 25 years, IJM and partners have brought safety and restoration to over 76,000 people around the world.
